This class is intended for beginner electronics enthusiasts and/or those looking to brush up on rusty skills while building something fun.

This class provides the foundation for basic Arduino usage and how to integrate with many types of components. Students will work towards building a Santa display utilizing a DC Motor, Stepper Motor, Servo Motor, LCD Display, Matrix Keypad, LEDs, 7-Segment Displays, Potentiometer, Joystick, Buzzer/Speaker, Shift Registers, Decoder/Demultiplexers, and Priority Encoders, and of course the Arduino Mega 2560. On the software side, we'll explore different ways of organizing our code including interrupts, state machines, classes. Don't know what those are? No problem! You'll learn that and more during this class.

Each student will be provided a "ELEGOO Arduino Mega 2560 The Most Complete Starter Kit" to use in the class and to then take home.

No experience needed.

Please remember:

* Masks MUST be worn inside HackPgh

* Anyone under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a legal guardian. If the legal guardian is not participating in the class they do not have to pay for their own ticket, but they must remain present in the workshop for the duration of the class.

* You must bring a laptop capable of running the Arduino IDE (https://www.arduino.cc/en/software) with you. (Windows, Mac, and Linux are supported.)
