Want to create a unique holiday gift or two for your friends and family? Did you wait too long to get something for that special someone? Join us for an exciting workshop where you’ll get both the support and access to our makerspace resources to make and take a custom handmade gift!  HackPGH leaders from several of our shop areas will be on hand to help make several types of gifts that you will get to customize:

  • Color tote bags decorated with a pressed design of your choice
  • Laser-cut wooden ornaments and/or acrylic lamp
  • 3D-printed ornaments, small figurines, pins, and accessories
  • Locally sourced hardwood coaster
  • Byzantine chain necklace or bracelet
  • The list of possible gift options may be added to!

Date and Time: Sunday, December 22 from 1:00pm - 7:00pm - you MUST pre-register for this workshop! If spaces are available, we will announce and permit walk-ins.

Prerequisites: No prior experience needed. All materials and tools to make the above-listed gifts will be provided. Shop Leaders will use materials at their disposal to demonstrate how to create small accessories.

Age Requirement: 12+. Minors MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Adults accompanying children who do not wish to make or take a gift need not pay.

Instructors: Aaron, Morgan, Beebo, and Becky

Cost: $50 for non-members, $45 for HackPGH members - per gift per person. If time and space allows, you are welcome to have more than one gift made but an extra fee will be charged at each station (cash or online payment).

HackPGH Membership Discount: A special membership option will be available for workshop participants who wish to return to our makerspace to work on other gifts and projects independently.  Speak to one of the Shop Leaders after class to find out more!
