[IMAGE HERE] Description: This class is an introduction to the basics of using a Serger (overlocker). Sergers are a multi-purpose multi-thread machine with opposing cutting blades that can be used in seam finishing work, as well as hemming and knit garment construction. This machine is a companion to the domestic sewing machine. Students will learn basic operation and how to thread the machine. Participants will practice these skills by making a set of reusable flannel towels. These washable towels, an economical alternative to paper towels, will be taken home by each student at the end of class. All materials will be provided. Prerequisites: Must be 18+, adults only! ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE RECENT DOMESTIC SEWING MACHINE EXPERIENCE PRIOR TO THIS CLASS. Registrants will be approved at the instructor's discretion.
